How to Save iPhone Battery at Night

Smartphone can be regarded as the widely and frequently used gadget that can help anyone stay updated with recent news and keep in touch with colleagues, friends and family. All these activities will definitely consume the battery power of your smartphone. There will be so many smartphones that can last longer while some of them will drain off really fast. Even though the iPhone is well-known as the sophisticated gadget from Apple, it has the same issue in term of fast battery draining off. Many iPhone users complain about its battery that does not last for even a day so it needs to be charged frequently. Nevertheless, iPhone users can apply several tips that can help them in improving battery life and then make their iPhone last longer. The following are some simple suggestions on how to save iPhone battery at night.

When you want to save battery iPhone at night, you can simply work with the Airplane Mode feature. Airplane Mode is a configuration in iOS that will enable users to deactivate all the wireless radios on your iPhone. Airplane Mode will disable the cellular signal, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth without having to turn off the smartphone. This feature is originally intended to put the smartphone in a state where it’s safe to use on an airplane, but now some iPhone users have taken advantage of this feature to make the device lasts longer.

Unfortunately, the Airplane Mode does not come with the default schedule setting or configuration. Consequently, you have to switch this feature on and off manually and surely it’s less practical. The best solution to overcome this issue is by installing the third party application namely the AirplaneScheduler on your iPhone. This app will allow you to switch Airplane Mode on and off automatically on a recurring basis while you are sleeping. AirplaneScheduler is a jailbreak tweak application which can be located at the ModMyi repository. It costs $1.49 and requires iOS 6 or above. Of course, AirplaneScheduler will not be ideal for those who are accustomed to receive phone calls in the middle of the night or those who are leaving the device on charge while sleeping.

If the activation of Airplane mode is not good enough in saving your iPhone battery, you may need to check out the apps that run periodically in background. The running background apps will basically drain off a lot of battery powers so you have to selectively turn off some rough apps before you go to sleep. To do this on iOS 7, you can go to Settings -> General -> Background App Refresh. Here you can turn off the whole running apps or retain the important ones for some background data updates. You may also check the Task Manager to figure out which applications that are currently causing the heavy battery drain. To access the Task Manager on iOS 7, simply double-click the home button and then swipe up the screenshot of applications that you want to close. When the screenshot flies off the screen, this indicates that the application has successfully closed.
